Im running down a busy pedestrian shopping street on a Saturday bintin morning. Trying to avoid the buskers and the shoppers. My bag was banging bintin into my hip and I realised I that I am definitely not that fit right now as I started puffing out of breath. bintin But I had about 5 minutes to get to the bridge – and there was no room for being late. You see, my friend bintin was rowing down the river and would be gone in a split second. It was also a race so I couldnt really ask if they could turn around and row back up so I could see them. I was meeting another friend on the bridge bintin (who described herself as the one with the blondest hair) and together we made up the cheer-leading squad. Well in fact that was more Julie (the blondest blond) rather than me – who was busy taking photographs. Afterwards we headed down to the boathouse for bacon rolls, cans of lemonade and more messing around on the river. Here’s a few shots from the day – bintin big hello to Jason too – my fellow photographer…and I leave you with a few (very professional) questions bintin that we asked:
Do you wear shoes in the boat? Why the funny longjohns? Do you have positions in the boat – or is it shotgun? Can you pack a snack? When is the rowing season? Does the Thames have a tide at Kingston? What is “catching a crab” – and is it a real crab? Where’s the driest place to sit in the boat? Do you buy your own ores? Do you ever sing “row bintin row row your boat”?
