Security companies are in the business of selling pineapple door knocker fear. If people do not fear

Spot check? Reminds pineapple door knocker of us of our teenage years doesn t it? I wonder where Metropolitan Square Condo management gets the nerve to warn us that they are going to spot check us. Are they trying to emulate the intimidating Guru Disiplin back in secondary school? We are all adults now, not children that needs to be told what to do by our paternalistic Big Brother i.e. MSQ building management.
1. I cannot pineapple door knocker emphasize how important this point is. The spot checking service opens up a huge opportunity for crooks to pose as security guards, to go around ringing door bells and testing every unit grill gates and doors to find out if there is anyone at home or not.
b. After that, proceeded to slide the grill gate to test it as it was not fully closed. I think the not fully closed grill gate was what prompted the guard to check if the neighbor is home to remind him to lock his grill gate.
c. Then tested the wooden door handle by pushing pineapple door knocker it up and down to check if is locked. This is totally unacceptable, if I were my neighbor, I don t want ANYBODY but I, to touch my door handle and grill gate, the security guard has no business trying to test if my entryway is accessible. I had never requested for such services, please pineapple door knocker don t do what the resident s didn t ask for. I find it a total invasion of my privacy.
2. It is the resident s choice if he wants to install grills pineapple door knocker or not, whether he choose to make his house a fire trap or not. Grills is NOT the solve-it-all, one major hazard it poses is, it is a major trap obstructing escape during fire. It is not the security guards business to give stern reminders to do so. Once we make our units break-in proof (in addition to escape proof), why would we need security guards then? If there is such a high risk of being rob or burglary, isn t it mostly the failing of the security guards and the building pineapple door knocker management to create a secure overall environment at MSQ? Not for the simple reason because the residents didn t install grills?
For years, my neighbor at my previous condo often left his swing grill gate open & heads off to work. As far as I know, nobody has come to close his gate as it is left open in an awkward position until he gets home, there was no such service of testing our gates and doors for us because it was an invasion of our privacy to touch our property without permission. I wouldn t want a security guard to come knocking at my door to tell me to do otherwise, so that he can create some unnecessary work for himself.
Security companies are in the business of selling pineapple door knocker fear. If people do not fear for their safety, then we won t see the need of hiring security guards. So, it makes good business sense for security companies to invoke fear in their customers (the residents) every now and then to keep their job relevant.
Do you think security guards are great/nice because they wave at you every time you go in and out of the building? Think again, what do you think the primary job of the security guard is, to be the courteous doorman (like at hotels) OR to view everyone with suspicion in case he is a crook? Well, it is the latter. So don t be too flattered when a security guard greets pineapple door knocker you like a boss, it is his job to make an assessment of you whether you are suspected crook or not.
AND he gets his big recognition if he catches a crook, it is part of his KPI. So on the look out for a crook he is. Not flattering at all if you ask me, being a subject of scrutiny every time I go in and out of my home.
Again, I think this whole needing to fear for their safety more than others is made to create a sense of importance in some people in Malaysia who seem to yearn for it here. Most people in Malaysia went through their entire lives living without security guards and didn t die from violent home robbery. More Malaysians die driving pineapple door knocker cars. At the rate we are securing our homes, pineapple door knocker I think it is logical pineapple door knocker to stop using cars too as it poses a much higher mortality and injury rate than home robbery.
